We started Orenzae because we got tired of being lied to.

Not in a dramatic way. In the quiet, frustrating way that happens when you spend $150 on a gold necklace, wear it every day for three months, and watch it turn green. You go back to the brand's website. You re-read the product page. "Everyday wear." "Real gold." "Lasting quality." It's all still there. Just not true.

We looked into why this keeps happening. Turns out, most jewelry brands at this price point use gold vermeil - a thin layer of gold electroplated over silver or brass. The plating is typically 1 to 2.5 microns thick. That sounds technical until you realize a human hair is 70 microns. The gold layer on most "gold" jewelry is almost nothing. It was never going to last. The brands know this. They sell it anyway.

We decided to do something different.

What we actually use

Every Orenzae piece is made in 14K gold-fill. Not plated. Not vermeil. Gold-fill is a mechanically bonded process - solid layers of 14K gold are bonded to a brass core under heat and pressure. The result is a gold layer that is 20x thicker than standard plating and 100x more durable than vermeil. It does not tarnish. It does not flake. It does not turn your skin green.

We also publish our material specs on every product - plating thickness, base metal, refinery source, manufacturing origin. Not because we have to. Because if you can't prove it, you shouldn't say it.
